Geneva is the outgrowth of DeKalb Financial Services which originated and placed tax oriented equipment leases with Community Banks.  However, with the changes in the tax law in the late 1980’s, that business was no longer viable.  Geneva Capital Group was formed to continue the relationships with the Community Banks and to quickly transition the company into the real estate sector given the experience of the principals involved.

Within the first year of starting Geneva, Universal Bank Corp (Bloomfield State Bank), a 133-year-old privately held bank in Indiana formed a partnership with Geneva which continues today.  Since then, Geneva has established a syndication network of 100+ institutions and investors and has provided over $2 billion in financing for 700 commercial real estate projects across the United States.
